Wise One

Wise One is a piece that combines a few of my loves. The owl face was scuplted in polymer clay and then a mold was made. Sterling silver PMC was used to press into the mold. The face and bits were then soldered onto the backplate. The stone is a Variscite. A stone that is closely related to turquoise, minerally speaking, a "hydrous aluminum phosphate"- with the distinct difference of containing no copper.
Variscite is seen as a grounding stone and is associated with the gaining of wealth.
This wise owl hangs on a 20 inch sterling chain.
